Empties, Products I've Used Up + Summer 2017 Skin Care Routine

Image
Hello again! It's been a good two years since I last updated my skin care routine, and it's been a while since I told you about some of my empties - so why not combine the two. Let's start with empties. Age Perfect Cell Renewal Day Cream  by L'Oreal is a good day cream, but it doesn't absorb into my face as fast as I would like and left it feeling a little too oily than I would prefer. Probably wouldn't buy again... And now for (empty) skin care. During high school, I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have too much acne. Maybe it's partially thanks to birth control. But I was only acne prone during puberty, at which time I had bangs which I think contributed to my forehead breakouts. Once I got to college, my acne took a turn for the worse. I looked at facial mapping, watched beauty influencers on YouTube for the best products, and went to a couple dermatologists. What the dermatologists forgot to account for was my change in location. I rec...

Empties, Products I've Used Up + My Best Buy Ever

Sensodyne Full Protection +Whitening toothpaste According to it's active ingredients, this toothpaste has 5% potassium nitrate which gives it it's anti-hypersensitivity property. It helps protect your teeth from sensitivity from cold, heat, acids, and sweets. For me, my teeth were getting more and more sensitive to the cold especially. But after using this product my sensitivity level seems to be better! Would buy again Lush Beautiful Shower Gel Although I only bought a small bottle of this body wash, I absolutely loved it. The scent is wonderful and is the same as their fragrance 1000 Kisses Deep . It just makes me feel luxurious. One con is that it contains glitter particles, which I find unnecessary. But if you take your time to use up the bottle, the particles will settle at the bottom. Will buy again Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Quenched How many times have you actually finished a lip balm instead of losing it in the void? For me it was zero......

Empties, Products I've Used Up

One of the products I've used up is the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser for normal to oily skin types. Actually, I didn't completely use it up because my mother threw it out when I was home for school - but I had almost finished the whole bottle. It is extremely gentle, had no strong scent, and I felt like it didn't strip my skin. I would definitely buy it again in the future. But, for now, the next facial cleanser I'm going to try is the Apsara Neem Facial Cleanser recommended by Kassie AKA +CloudyApples . If you don't know her, I recommending looking her up on YouTube.   Another product I'd like to talk about is the Neutrogena Naturals Acne Foaming Scrub. It has the stamp from the Nature Conservatory. But, it has (natural) microbeads in it and had a pretty strong scent, which is why I didn't actually finish the bottle. Instead I threw it away. If you don't know what the hype about microbeads is about, let me tell you. Microbeads are small,...

My Skin Care Routine - May 2015

Hi again! If you read my last skincare post, you know that I like to use a sugar scrub for my body. What I do is mix whatever body wash I'm using with some granulated sugar to make a simple scrub. I still like to do this, especially after a long day sweating it out on the tennis court. I also like to dry brush the skin. But my face routine has changed since we last talked. My skincare routine has become a lot gentler and I do think my face has benefitted from it. First I wash my face with CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin). I either use my fingers or put a pump on a Clarisonic to get a deeper clean. I have heard that using sugar on the face can leave micro tears, so unless it's a premade scrub made especially for the face I will stick to less abrasive methods. After that I pat my skin dry I put on an eye serum. It may sound silly to use an eye serum because I'm so young, but good skin care can never start too early. I...

My Skin Care Routine - November 2014

for those of you who know me, or those of you who don't, I love make up I love the way it makes me feel, the satisfaction of pulling off a perfect red lip, or just smoky eyes however, I rarely wear it I am super simple and usually don't even find the time to put on eye shadow in the morning, let along foundation, lipstick, eyeliner, mascara, etc when I do though, and when I am done with the day, I really take the time to cleanse my face (and body) and let everything breath so here's how I do it I take off all of my makeup using a two-phase cleanser, the kind where you can see oil on the top. then, I use a face mask: nothing too fancy, but because of my normal-to-oily skin I tend to gravitate towards a clay mask. once it sets, I use some warm water to rinse it off. Then I use a cleanser with salicylic acid, around 2%, mixed with a little bit of sugar for exfoliation (if I feel like my skin needs a boost) to cleanse my body I use another sugar scrub. I put a squi...

LORAC Nude Skinny Palette!

Hey guys! So I just bought online the LORAC Nude Skinny Palette for $15 dollars (originally $133)! this great deal is part of the +Nordstrom  Anniversary Sale, which will probably end soon The first time I checked online, this palette was sold out which was a total bummer. but not today! I've been searching for a great neutral palette with a cheap price and this palette might be exactly what I've been searching for. it has 7 shades: 3 are matte, 3 are shimmery, and there is 1 highlighting color. (s/o to Jen +From Head To Toe   who featured this palette in her NORDSTROM Anniversary Sale Haul vid) It's really similar to the Naked Basics Palette which has 6 matte shades... but the price is $28. you do the math. In terms of color, the LORAC Palette has a lot more warm colors and tones which will (hopefully) go great with my skin tone. both come with a big mirror which is a plus, but no space for...
